The 26-year-old joined the Buffalo Bills in 2020 as a seventh-round pick from University of Pittsburgh. Since then, Jackson has appeared in 37 games in three years with Buffalo. Last season alone, he played in 15 games with 57 tackles, 12 passes defended, and two interceptions. The 2023 season will mark Jackson’s fourth season with the Bills.
Earlier this week, the Bills tendered Jackson as a restricted free agent. On Thursday, GM Brandon Beane indicated that both sides were working on a contract to lower his salary cap hit from his tender of $2.627M. Yesterday, they reached an agreement for a one-year contract, but have not disclosed any further details.
This past season, the Pittsburgh native stepped up in a big way. Jackson became a consistent starter for Buffalo, especially after the loss of Tre’Davious White. Starting in all but two games and recovering from a neck injury this season, Dane Jackson played a larger role in the Bills defense and worked well with the team’s other CBs.
Dane Jackson finished 29th in receptions allowed while being 25th in targets, 23rd in INT, 38th in tackles out of 136 qualified CBs with 20% of snaps. He was better than most wanna give him credit for. #Bills #BillsMafia

As the 2023 NFL season approaches, we can hope to see Jackson’s development continue and see his continued support on the team’s defense.
