Sergio Perez is coming into the 2024 season with a mammoth task on his hands. He desperately needs to either match or beat his teammate Max Verstappen, who humbled the Mexican with absurd dominance in 2023. Perez was able to bet Verstappen in two of the first four races of the previous season, and after the Miami GP his form plummeted to a level in which making in Q3 on Saturday became one of his primary goals.

For Red Bull, Verstappen has grown to be a valuable resource. Pérez now wants to get back to where he was at the beginning of the previous campaign. He must perform well starting from the Bahrain Grand Prix to maintain his status as a Red Bull driver in 2025. Sergio Perez has to prove himself before summer break

Sergio Perez is under pressure to perform better because his deal with Red Bull expires at the end of 2024. Helmut Marko, the team’s advisor, has set a deadline of the summer break for evaluating Perez’s performance and deciding on the team’s 2025 driver lineup. Perez’s setbacks from the previous year underscore the necessity of enhanced performance.

Perez had trouble in qualifying the previous season, missing the third round and starting races out of position to help Max Verstappen. Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo are competing for the position at Visa Cash App RB in 2024 if Perez is unable to improve.
